Blogging from Home: Part 7

  <insert greeting here>
    - <insert name here>

This will be the 7th blog during quarantine and I will be writing some of the things that happened today.

So, today me and my mom made some homemade lasagna. The meat was cooked last night with some cut up onions. It took about a few minutes to cook. The next day, she started preparing the actual dish.
She used some lasagna whatever-you-call-its and some sauce to make the finished product.

And then, our housemates gave us six (6) homemade chocolate muffins. It was very delicious.

Ignore the Doritos bag. It's literally full of trash.

I also had a weird lookin' dream a while ago. I'll update this post with a drawing of some of the characters. Obviously, I was there.

  Short bye-byes. Bye.

Blogging from Home: Dream

Hello, everyone. Upcoming long talk, unless you don't like long stories, go on.
     - Me

So, this is an old one that I’d use to have. It’s a dream of mine. I dub it, “The Railway System”.

This dream is one thing that stuck with me since the first time I had it when I was at least 3 years old. It’s a rather odd one, because the last time I had this was at least 2010 - 2011 and it just returns in 2020, 13 years old.

This is the only dream I’ve ever talked about to anyone most people. This might mean something, but I don’t know yet. It could just be a random dream or it might mean something, and I’ll find out just in time or too late.

Anyway, on with the dream.

It’s a rather simple dream. As much as you want to believe that it’s far worse or much more complicated, it’s easier to explain than you assume.

The dream starts with me, a young kid walking through an empty railway surrounded by trees. Trees were placed on the sides and the middle of the railways and the leaves were also orange and yellow, indicating that it was fall. It was peacefully quiet. In front of me were two tunnels, leading somewhere. The dream ends with me entering one of the tunnels, the right one specifically.
Whatever happened to me wasn’t very… clear, but I have some gruesome assumptions on what my fate could’ve been. As an overthinker, I try to plan out in advance against certain situations before acting out. What I assume could’ve happened to me was I fell asleep and never woke up, I crossed the tunnel and just kept walking, or I saw what was inside, ran out, got dragged in and died regardless.

I can think of more ways of what could’ve happened, but I don’t have much time for making other possibilities.

On 2020, April 25: Saturday, the same dream occured, except it appeared differently. I was much older, it was less bright and the trees seemed slightly… wilted. The city around it was just as quiet as before, but it didn’t seem peaceful, more of an eerie too-quiet version. The buildings around it also seemed a bit withered and broken.

I was a bit more grown up, estimated 16-22 years, carrying supplies and a weapon. The dream ended in the same way. The possibilities are also the same. Whatever happened doesn’t look right, but with my level of nerdiness, I can only assume that it’s a virus outbreak.

Seeing the way that these occurred in different times might only serve to see about how my past is in contrast to my present and future. But it worries me a bit. And it’s rare for me to even think that. Almost impossible to say so. I’m worried something big might be on the way, and that either no one knows, or no one’s doing a thing to stop it.

I’m relieved to know that I lived through that pandemic, but knowing that there’s no one to help makes my worries increase in severeness. There’s nothing I know about it, except for the things I assume and theorize about what it could be or would have been.

I… I don’t know anymore. Well, people were right about one thing: explaining dreams down to the smallest detail is hard. And if you did, it might scare or entertain you.

We’re all complicated individuals who have different situations and dreams, who are we to judge?
This was a hard topic for me to explain. Being able to type this in only makes it completely legible and sort of easier to understand. If you want to, you can provide feedback for any future posts that may come in our future, but for now; stay safe and stay home. Goodbye and good luck!

Blogging from Home: Part 6

Hello, again. This will be quick, don't worry. Or do so.
     - Me

So, I was supposed to post this yesterday, but with the things going on around me and by having the memory of dirt, I eventually forgot about it. Anyway, here's my 6th blog post during the COVID-19 Quarantine.

About a few days ago, me and my mom made something that includes crushed oreos and melted marshmallows. It kind of looks like this:

It might be originally for a recipe for making Oreo Marshmallow Bars or something, except without most of the ingredients and steps.

It's pretty simple to make. You crush some Oreos, and you melt some marshmallows. Before you microwave, I suggest you use butter to make the marshmallows non-sticky, unlike what we did. After melting the marshmallows, presumably by microwave, you dump the Oreo dust on the gooey result and you mix them together.

And then, you freeze it for a good 5-10 minutes or so, and then, BOOM: you have your rubbery but delicious and edible snack.

This was quick and short, so it'd have costed you at least 5 minutes or less reading this. I'll post another one tomorrow. Well, thank you and goodbye!

Blogging from Home: Part 5

  Short greeting, hi.
    - Me

This is a late one, but, I don't really care. Here's the 5th blog for the quarantine.

So, me and my mum made this dish called, in the Philippines, kwek-kwek (the reddish balls of something). Though it sound strange and might even sound like something out of fiction and probably our imagination, kwek-kwek is a street food found anywhere in the Philippines. It's a boiled egg covered in a flour and salt coating deep fried in hot oil. They usually cost under 20 pesos there, or less even.

As we cooked them, my mom cut up some cucumber and chili peppers to make the sauce for these. The sauce (top of picture) is made from vinegar, cucumber slices and cut peppers, but can be made either sweet or spicy. They taste very good, but I didn't even try the sauce, because vinegar is not a nice tasting sauce-of-choice.

   Short goodbyes, too. Thanks!

Blogging From Home: Part 4

Hello, this is my 4th blog from home. This one was made with my School account on Blogger in my Home email. I might have to find anything to post because I've got nothing to post.
      - Me

This is my 4th blog during the COVID-19 Quarantine here in NZ. Here's my fill on my day yesterday and today.

Yesterday: About afternoon, me and my mom cooked puto (steamed rice cakes) with flan as the bottom part of the rice cakes. I mixed the batter for the rice cakes. We had two packets of the powder to use, and one packet needed at least 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of sugar and 5 tbsp of oil each. We doubled the ingredients and I mixed them in as my mom made the batter for the flan. The result was some very delicious steamed rice cakes.

Today: My teacher planned for a group call today on April 20. It wasn't dull or exciting, but I still managed to see some of my friends and classmates. We were told to do 1 blog post if we can, and reply to another person's. This blog post is an example of one. We were also told to do a weekly quiz and the deadline is midday-Friday.

That is all for this post. Nothing special about much, but thanks for reading this anyway. Goodbye! Have a nice day!

Blogging from Home: Part 3

Hello, this is my third blog while in quarantine. Not strong enough to make a good greeting.
- Me

This blog is based off the activity I did. The activity is making a timeline about two historical figures that changed history, one way or the other.

For this activity, the people I picked this is Adolf Hitler and Martin Luther King Jr. I picked Hitler as the figure because his history intrigues me, even the facts about him. The reason I picked Luther King Jr. was because he made a change without having to use force, however, I picked him mostly because I forgot who I picked in the first place.

I tried making the timeline in Visme, but I ended up ditching the website. Instead, I moved on to pencil and paper. Though easier to do, lines were not easy to make, as it was with spacing and writing. The timelines were easy to do, still. I only had to use one piece of paper for both of their timelines. Adolf's timeline is awfully longer than Luther King's because I kind of did it in under 2 hours.

I concealed the paper by my chromebook, so I wouldn't lose it. I'm currently not bothering to do the other activities, and this might bite me in the neck soon enough. But, I hope that these activities aren't necessary. Otherwise, I'll find out the hard way.

Thank you for reading this. Please provide me with some feedback to make these better. Thanks!

Blogging from Home: Part 2

Hello, everyone! For future reference, these will not be seen very often, as I don't do much very often. Stay at the end for a special surprise.
       - Me

This blog will be about my Art at Home activity and what I did.

In the Art at Home activities, obviously, there were a lot of art-related topics that didn't interest me. However, one stood out and it was called Quick, Draw! The goal is to draw a specific item in 20 seconds for the AI to guess. I had fun playing the first game, but I got stumped in the 'squirrel' part. I got 5 out of 6 drawings right because of it. I wanted to get 6 out of 6, and as the persistent one I am, I kept resetting and drawing for me to get them right.

It was exhilarating and quite fun. My brain and my hand had to cooperate to draw the thing before time ran out and that my mouse wasn't the best thing to draw with, it still worked.

Thank you for seeing this short blog. Sorry about the short ones I keep posting, but, hey, I'm trying. As promised, here's the link for a video, congratulating you for reading this.

Blogging from Home: Part 1

Hello, everyone. Please wash your hands and them to yourself, practice social distancing and DO NOT lick toilet seats. I mean seriously, come on.
        - Me

So this blog will be centered entirely on what I think of the new Kahui rooms of Hornby High.

My thoughts:
So, my thoughts about the new Kahui is that it is roomy, well-suited and very well constructed. The beams provide immense support for the buildings in any cases of an earthquake. There are separate rooms in where the students can have their quiet time to learn and practice communicating with each other.

What I like about it:
There are many rooms in where we can think properly and work as a group, provided no one inside with us is causing a commotion. They also provide us a chance to communicate better as a team. The rooms also have large space to fit many students.

I would want to talk longer, but I really can't remember anything I do or don't like about them. Sorry about that! Anyway, thank you for reading this and thank you for viewing this. Please provide some feedback and some advice for any future blogs. Thank you!
