    Hello, again! No introductions needed.
  -Andrei Montellano

This week in our P.E. Hurumanu we have...

  • (Why) played two fun activities
  • (Where) in the old school gym
  • (What) and to learn about teamwork.
S - Statement
E - Explanation
E - Example

    Statement
Our first activity was Kick Long Ball . For this activity, I rated myself as a Level 3.

    Explanation
To achieve at Level 4, we have to show that we can consistently show that we do a great job when we listen carefully.

    Example
During the first game of Kick Long Ball, I showed that I am working at Level 3 by doing as told and learning when I didn't get it. These examples show that I have met the standards for Level 3.

    Statement
Our second activity was  Benchball. For this activity, I rated myself as a Level 4.

    Explanation
To achieve at Level 4, we have to show that we can consistently show that we work together well as a team.

    Example
During the second game of Bench Ball, I showed that I am working at Level 4, by doing the game as its made and cooperating with my teammates. These examples show that I have met the standards for Level 4.

Next week, I am aiming to work at Level 4. To make sure that I am working on that level, I am going to work on my physical strength and speed and endurance.

Rock On and Roll On

Hello again! No need for further introduction (sorry).
      -Andrei Montellano

Buddy Holly - The Life of a Musician   Thank you for reading!

Song Blog

Hello again! Please enjoy. I need no further explanation (sorry).
  - Andrei Montellano

      The task requirements:
The task requirements we were given were to make a song, a good one, add music (if optional), and to make a blog post about it, which is what you're reading right now.

      The lyrics:
    (Verse 1)
  An unknown Foundation
  Saving you from trouble
  Those things are inhuman
  And they’re our only hope

  Many foes they face
  Although they still stand
The tests they do and run
  Is a cost at hand

(D-9341)
  I wake up
  I can’t remember anything
A cell and a piece of paper comes to sight
  I don’t know what happened
This place is a mystery to unravel

Two guards appear at the door
“Knock, knock! Come on, you bore!”
 This place is eerily formidable
 The moment I woke up,
 I wondered…
 What lies ahead?

(Chorus)
Knock, knock! Open up the door!
  Something’s going on inside!
Someone or something’s hiding in this place…

We have to find it fast!
That thing will kill us all!
We say that you open up,
  Because the Foundation is here!

(Ulgrin)
Just another day at the office
  Another fool to escort
Prisoners of war, condemned to death
  Test subjects in our language

I know, this job sucks, actually
It pays, but still though, hey
  Sending lives to death
  For scientific gains

It’s just as scary as the Grim Reaper
  And like a fantasy

  Am I just dreaming?
  Have I long died?
  I won’t know.

(D-9341)
This place is just as terrifying
  As anything I’ve ever seen
  The anomalies takes the cake
  When it comes to terror
  Literally obscure

This stuff is worse than Dead Space
  It’s just as terrifying
When I die, I come back
So, is any of this real?
  Or just a game?

(Bridge)
  A facility-wide breach,
  Took so many lives,
  Nobody is spared, either turned
  Or killed

(D-9341)
  It buys me time
To get out of this place
  Will I be free…
  Or taken again?

(Chorus)
Knock, knock! Open up the door!
  Something’s going on inside!
Someone or something’s hiding in this place…

We have to find it fast!
That thing will kill us all!
We say that you open up,
  Because the Foundation is here!

  The SCP Foundation
  Thanks you
  For your cooperation...

Song Inspiration:
I was inspired by a video game, so I made this song. I based it off the horror game SCP - Containment Breach created on 2012. The game is based of a fictional company called the SCP Foundation. They specialise in protecting humanity from the unknown and dangerous, also called SCPs. The characters, D-9341, the player, and Agent Ulgrin, the agent who escorts you in the beginning, I added because I thought some character involvement would be good for the song. Some of their lines even included Fourth Wall Breaks.

Metaphors and Similes:
I only used a small amount of both in making the song. I even revised the original copy because I didn't think it was good enough, even though I finished. The metaphor, "takes the cake" stands out from the whole thing. And a "mystery to unravel" is pretty much self-explanatory.
The similes are:
"...as scary as the Grim Reaper." means very terrifying.
and "just as horrifying as Dead Space" is completely traumatising to be in a similar situation.

Difficulty:
It wasn't as hard as I thought it was, considering I finished it in a whole 1 hour class, so it wasn't hard. But it did stoke me a little bit on editing the finished version.

That was my blog post about how I created the song. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a good day!

Blog for Making Book Connections

     Making Connections
Making connections is when we make links
between what we already know (our prior knowledge) and
              the text.

These are the three kinds of connections we can make:

  1. Text to Self
This is when we connect the text to our own experiences.
Example: (This part's like the time I got a pet. That's kinda cool!)

  2. Text to Text
Text to text connections are when we compare the text we are reading to other similar texts.
These texts could be TV programs, visual texts, books, or in a movie.
Example: (Elton John kind of reminds me of Elvis Presley.)

 3. Text to World
This is when we connect what we are reading to things that really happen in the outside world.
Example: (The country is facing a drought in the water reserves. This is like Manila, when the citizens are troubled by running out of clean, purified water.)

This topic helps me better understand what I have read because it helps me understand how it relates to our real world and because it helps me understand what goes on and how I can prevent the same thing from happening or how I can make things better.

Self-Assesment on Paperboy

Hello, again. Once again, this blog is another task given to me by my teacher, Mr. Terry Mitchell, on a book review for "Paperboy" by Vince Vawter.
          - Andrei Montellano

Self-Assessment on Last Week's Tasks

    1. Did I complete all of last week's tasks?
No, I did not. I only managed to finish drawing Ara T and reading for 20 minutes. The other tasks I haven't done.

    2. What did I do well?
I did well at drawing Ara T and reading about 20 minutes. The drawing isn't as good, but at least I tried.

    3. What activity challenged me the most?
What challenged me the most was drawing Ara T because I had to rush, even though I had time to spare.

    4. What did I do about it?
I drew it anyway because I didn't manage to finish all tasks in previous weeks, so I tried to finish the current one.

   5. What activity was the easiest for me?
It was reading silently for 20 minutes, because I had been a bookworm when I was in 4th Grade.

   6. How can I extend myself next time?
I could extend by doing my work more vigourously, or just a tad better.
