Teaser Week: Greatest of All Time

Hi. I'm sure I have not posted in a while, but I just didn't have the time to.
        - Me

While there are thousands of talented athletes in the world, there are a small number of individuals who rise to the top of their game and earn the title of G.O.A.T - The Greatest of All Time. One of these is Grandmaster chess player, Garry Kasparov. Garry was the top-ranked chess player in the world for fifteen straight years (1985 - 2000). He started playing chess when he was just seven years old.
To become an expert, he practiced for hours every day. According to some scientists, you have to practice a skill for 10 000 hours (about 9 years) in order to become an expert. Wow, that is a lot of practice! For Garry, this meant training to play chess every day at a special school with special coaches. He was not able to attend regular school and did not have much ‘free’ time to spend with family and friends.
Being the GOAT of one thing may sound good to people, but people that have been the GOAT at something know the pros and cons of being one.
The Pros of being the GOAT:
  1. You are respected by many.
  2. You hold extreme ability and knowledge in the sport or game.
  3. You are considered better than everyone that face you.
The Cons of being the GOAT:
  1. You must keep your reputation and name clean and perfect.
  2. Losing at least one match will have your reputation immediately stained, or broken. It might not, but that's how it might work.
  3. You have to be active always. You have to be ready everyday, just in case someone challenges you to that title of yours.
Being the best at something might be good for some people; they might think that it's amazing. But there could always be something that is a disadvantage to being the best.

Well, that's it, bla bla bla, ok, bye!

Post-War Apocalyptic Story

Hi. I can say *bleep* as much as I want.
       - Me

 Post-War
 Jonestown, Mississippi, USA
 2026
 5 years after Nuclear War

  1. The destroyed city.
  2. A destroyed and deserted city.
  3. A city, destroyed and deserted, like the City of Chernobyl.
  4. A lost, destroyed and deserted city, covered in ash and radiation, full of abandoned buildings and dead bodies.
  5. A lost, sad-looking, destroyed and deserted city, covered in ash and radiation, full of abandoned buildings and dead bodies. Sad cries echoing through the streets and angry shouts, followed by gunfire.
  6. The city of Jonestown, post-war. Lost, destroyed and deserted. Ankle-deep in ash and radiation from the bombs, abandoned buildings at every turn, and dead bodies under the remnants. The sad cries of the few scavengers, and the angry, hoarse screams of the bandits, fighting for their survival, as the sounds of gunfire rings across the streets of the city.

Thank you for seeing this. Again, as a reminder, please provide me some feedback so I can make these better. Another one, https://teamtrees.org, please donate for the planet. Thanks and goodbye!

Climate Change and Sea Level Rise

"hi. i'm sans." As poorly quoted from Undertale, which kinda describes me.
        - Me

What places will be affected?
Flood prone areas, rivers, lakes, etc; anywhere near water
me
What else do we need to think about?
How sea level rise will affect us in the next 10 years

What other places around NZ will be affected?
areas near beaches, rivers, flood prone areas, lakes, etc.

What does this do to our drinking water?
This renders our drinking water dirty and unsuitable for drinking.

What are the main concerns?

  1.   Climate change
  2.  greenhouse gases

What can we do?
  1.  Use public transportation instead of personal vehicles
  2.  Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
  3.  use renewable energy

What is the one, silver bullet solution?
It's nothing.

What is the mix of things we need to start doing?
  1.   recycling
  2.   reusing
  3.   reduicng
What are 3 others you can think of?
  1.   walking
  2. biking
  3.   jogging

                - Me

Action: Jarvis gets irritated that they can’t go to the arcade
    Role/s: Andrei: Jarvis
                Isaiah: Robert
    Space: Jarvis’ house

Robert: Hey, wanna go to the arcade?
Jarvis [excited]: Hell yeah, been planning this since last week!

Jarvis: So, you got any coins?
    Robert: Uhhh, no, I don’t.
Jarvis [agitated]: Whaddya mean? We can’t go to the arcade without any money!
Robert [surprised]: Jesus Christ, okay! It’s just a prank, okay! I got them right here!
    Robert [frightened]: Calm down, hothead!

    *several deep breaths later*
    Jarvis: Damn, you’re an idiot.
    *long pause*
Jarvis [frustrated]: C’mon, let’s just go.

    Robert: OK.

    Inferring in my Understanding

Hey. Not in the mood for the usual welcome.
             - Me

    Literal Information:
            - Literal information is information found in the story that is vital to infer certain parts of the story. It may be obvious parts, and it could also be not.

    Inferring:
            - Inferring is being able to read between the lines of stories and put together certain events to form a sensible timeline. Putting together a timeline in your knowledge will form something that could be a possible happening for an event in a story.

      Ex.
Literal - Robert was dismayed because someone ate his sandwich. Mike was hungry because he didn't eat breakfast.

Inferred - Mike could've eaten Robert's sandwich while he was away.

Hi. If you've found this too short, then it's really all I could think of. Thank you for reading this. As always, please provide feedback so I may make better blogs. Thank you.

    Wind Power

Hello, again. It's been 2 weeks, so I'm still gonna get used to this, AGAIN.
                   - Me

       Measuring weather.

    Definitions:

    1.  Anemometer: An anemometer is a device used for measuring wind speed and direction.
    2. Beaufort wind scale: The Beaufort scale is an empirical measure that relates wind speed to observed conditions at sea or on land.

    Anemometer

    MATERIALS

    1. 4 dishes
    2. 2 sticks
    3.   cellotape
    4.   pencil
    5.   pin

    STEPS

    1.  Go to one of the designated areas.
    2.  Raise the anemometer as high as you can reach.
    3.   Time 15 seconds.
    4.   Count the spins within 15 seconds.
    5.   Record.
    Groups size: 5
    Roles:
    • Timekeeper - Taylor
    • Counter - ME
    • Recorder - Kade
    • Anemometer Manager - JC
    • Wind Manager - Jaren
    1. Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
    2. When the time keeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
    3. Repeat the above step four (4) times and record the number of spins on the chart.

    FINDINGS

    • Record how many times it spins and record it in the table below.
    • You will need to time them and count the number of spins.

Place name on school grounds                                    Number of Spins in 15 seconds
    1.Field1
    2.Old J Block Site1
    3.Small hill in Quadrangle1
    4.Tennis Court Gate2

    CONCLUSION:

There was almost no wind in the field, the old J Block, and the grass hill in the Quad because the wind was very calm. The tennis court gate had the strongest wind of 2 spins/hr because the wind was slightly stronger than the other 3 areas and that the space nearby was creating a wind tunnel.

    Personal Bio-Poem

Hello. As you've read from the title, yes, this is VERY personal. It is my personal info.
                  - Me

         Andrei
I am smart, friendly, and a realist.
I am the son of Jackie and Alex, the cousin of Yoehann, Lianne and Ninyo.
I love my dog, Wilford, and my family.
The three emotions I mainly experience is bored, happy, and mild depression.
The things I fear the most are spiders, the fear of changing, and actually managing to fatally hurt someone in my anger.
The things I would like to happen is to go to different countries and to see the world clean and healthy.
