“Running out of energy”
Andrei Montellano
Today on Feb. 19, I read two different books. It wasn’t exactly read two, more like finished one and read another.
They were books in the Wimpy Kid series. ‘The Getaway’ and ‘Hard Luck’ were both great books, they both tell the recollection of a pre-teen boy in 6th grade dealing with the struggles of life in a comedic and relatable way. I’m not gonna say anything for both of these books for the sake of not spoiling any of it.
The books were pretty well-structured, albeit relatable and kind of true for some people. His trips and adventures usually drop out of the rails and into the cliff as bad luck follows them all over.
The characters are interesting in a way that makes some of us just feel for the things Greg feels about his family and school.
The people in this text and their attitudes serve the text appropriately, elaborating on what he feels for these people and what they feel about Greg. The children are depicted as rowdy and unruly, the teenagers as unpredictable and crazy, the adults as controlling and persistently weird, pretty much how Greg sees it all. But even then, he does figure out why they do this, and sometimes, it’s pretty nice.
Overall, these books were pretty crazy, and hilarious.
